Ethiopian IT Park and Debre Berhan University Forge Strategic Partnership

ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA – July 21, 2025 – Ethiopian IT Park and Debre Berhan University (DBU) today announced a landmark collaboration with the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the launch of a comprehensive training program on Server and Cloud Infrastructure Operations. The event, held at Ethiopian IT Park, signifies a pivotal step towards enhancing Ethiopia’s digital infrastructure capabilities and fostering skilled human capital in the technology sector. The strategic partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions to drive innovation and provide practical expertise in critical areas of IT. Ato Henok Ahmed, CEO of Ethiopian IT Park, delivered welcome remarks, emphasizing the significance of such partnerships in advancing Ethiopia’s technological landscape. Dr. Asmare Melese, President of Debre Berhan University, also addressed the attendees, highlighting Debre Berhan University’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates. The official signing ceremony of the MoU, and launch of the training program was conducted by the CEO of Ethiopian IT Park and the President of Debre Berhan University, solidifying the commitment of both organizations.Following the signing, attendees participated in a guided tour of the Ethiopian IT Park, including the HQ, various facilities, and an insightful data center tour and rack orientation at wingu.africa , where the University’s servers are collocated. The “Server and Cloud Infrastructure Operations Training” program will equip participants with essential skills in managing and operating modern server and cloud environments. Ten trainees from Debre Berhan University are participating in this program. The council visited some selected facilities in the IT Park includes Raxio and winguAfrica state-of-the-art tier III (uptime design and facility certified) Datacenter and InnoBiz-K business incubation and acceleration center. I have also the opportunity to present the vision and current status of the park.
